India finished 2nd and won a silver medal in the 3*3 Asia Cup Under-17 Men’s Basketball Championship organized by the International Basketball Federation.

The 6th Asia-level tournament was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 13th. India’s team consisting of Jaideep Rathore, Kaushal Singh, Hash Duk and Lokendra Singh, who played amazingly, defeated Jordan (19-2) in the quarter-final and Chinese Taipei (21-20) in the semi-final and advanced to the final match.

However, they lost 17-21 to Japan and got silver. The Indian team secured their place in the World Cup by qualifying for the final match.

With this, they have qualified for the Under-18 Men’s 3*3 World Cup Basketball Tournament for the first time in 11 years. India, which had previously participated in the tournament in 2011, finished 29th in the men’s category and 16th in the women’s category.
