Thursday evening, more than 67,000 spectators enjoyed the French XV, pitted against Namibia at the Vélodrome stadium in Marseille for their third match of this Rugby World Cup. But it will still be possible to see the Blues in the coming days. Because Fabien Galthié’s men took up residence in Aix-en-Provence on Monday, their vacation spot for their last two group matches against the Namibians, then against Italy in Lyon on October 6.

In Bouches-du-Rhône, it is therefore possible to see Ollivon and company near the Renaissance hotel, near the Aix-en-Provence station. But if the Blues do not disdain signing a few autographs during these informal meetings, as we could see in their hotel in Marcq-en-Baroeul (North) before their match against Uruguay in Villeneuve-d’Ascq (North ), an official and supervised opening is planned during their stay in Provence.

Training open to spectators is in fact scheduled during the week without a match for the French XV, at the end of September. If the date initially chosen was Friday September 29, the City of Aix-en-Provence affirms that this public session planned at the Georges Carcassonne stadium has been brought forward to Thursday September 28 at 5:15 p.m. This change in schedule has not yet been confirmed by the French Rugby Federation.

A draw to attend Les Bleus training

The city is also gaining places to attend this training via an online draw. The registration deadline is Friday September 22 at 11:59 a.m.

The Blues will then leave Aix-en-Provence to reach the metropolis of Lyon on October 3. They must take up residence at the Golden Tulip Lyon Ouest hotel in Limonest, where a press conference is planned for the end of the day. They will then face Italy on Friday October 6 at Groupama Stadium, the usual venue for OL footballers.

The rest of the program is not yet known, because France is not yet qualified for the quarter-finals even if its opening victory against New Zealand (27-13) puts it on very good rails to come out of his group in first position. Whether they finish first or second, Fabien Galthié’s men will play their quarter-final at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis. They will then return to take up residence in Ile-de-France. But their vacation location is not yet known and is linked to their ranking in the group and a draw made in 2022.
