World Cycling Championships: With Nico Drakos the National Team in Glasgow

The World Cycling Championships that will be hosted in Glasgow, Scotland, started on Wednesday 2nd and will end on Sunday 13th August, with the participation of our country’s National Team.
Greece is represented by 12 sportsmen and women, among them Rhodesian cyclist Nikos Drakos of the Italian ASD Aries Cycling.
The relevant notice issued by the EEA for information states the following:
“The time is near! The time has come for the 2023 World Cycling Championships organized by the UCI with the participation of thousands of athletes from all over the world! The Hellenic Cycling Federation, as an official member of the UCI, participates again this year with a 12-member delegation of sportsmen and women, which came after the recommendation of the federal coaches of the National Teams Commissioner and the decision of the EOP Executive Committee.
The athletes who will participate in the World Cycling Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, from 2 to 13 August 2023 are as follows:
Giannoutsos Miltiadis (Aeolos)
Drakos Nikolaos-Michael (ASD Aries Cycling)
George Bouglas (Kronos Nikias)
Eleftheriadou Ekaterini (PGS Larisa)
Konstantinos Berdebes (Nikai Saturn)
Alexandros Topkaroglou (FROM Koropi)
Milaki Argyro (PAS Atlas Rethymnon)
Yahou Eleftheria (A.S. Alpha Kallithea)
Zafiri Evelina (A.O. Theseas)
Zotos Sokratis (A.O. Theseas)
The federal coaches accompanying the Greek delegation are: Manolis Mentakis, Nikos Koumbenakis, Apostolos Tsopouroglou and George Varverakis.
It is also worth mentioning that athletes also compete in the UCI World Events, Nikos Papagelis who will compete on the track and on the road in the Para-World Cycling Championship, as well as Takis Xouris of Aiolos in the TT and endurance events in the Grand Fondo World Series.
