World Government Summit 2024 Kicks Off in Dubai
The World Government Summit 2024 got underway today, Monday, in Dubai, under the slogan “Foreseeing Future Governments,” and will continue until February 14th. More than 25 heads of state and government are expected to participate in the summit.
The new edition of the summit will tackle pressing global challenges, fostering common visions and strengthening cooperation between governments. It will also provide a platform for sharing inspiring stories and impactful models in government work.
The summit will host 120 government delegations, over 85 international and regional organizations, alongside thought leaders and experts. With more than 4,000 participants in attendance, the event promises a rich exchange of ideas and experiences.
Main Themes and Discussions:
The summit features six main themes and 15 global forums, exploring major future trends and transformations across various sectors. Over 110 dialogue and interactive sessions will take place, featuring 200 prominent figures, including presidents, ministers, experts, and future makers. Additionally, there will be over 23 ministerial meetings and executive sessions involving more than 300 ministers.
Notable Absence:
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has unfortunately cancelled his visit to the United Arab Emirates and will not be attending the summit. This follows his apology to the UAE president for his absence.
