World Hansa 303, satisfaction of the Italian Naval League for the Palermo event

The World Sailing Championships for the Hansa 303 class, organized by the Palermo Section of the Italian Naval League, in competition with the Italian Sailing Federation (Fiv) and the Italian Paralympic Committee (Cip) and with the support of the Local institutions and sponsors. This class of boat, designed and built precisely to meet the needs of athletes with disabilities, has seen a great success of the 2021 edition of the World Championship in numbers and results: over 180 athletes from 5 continents, 25 nations with 118 boats in competition. All thanks to the will and commitment of the LNI members, guided and motivated by the President Tisci, the volunteers and all those who collaborated in the realization of this important event.

An applause goes to all the athletes, the winners of the three categories of the championship, the excellent placings of the LNI athletes, including Gianluca Capone of LNI Palermo, who finished 21st overall in the “Single” category and the couple Aytano – Bortoletto of the LNI Genoa Sestri Ponente, ranked 5th overall in the “Doubles” category.

“Races completed despite the bad weather, efficient, flexible, punctual logistical and operational organization but above all a warm hospitality and a friendly atmosphere that characterized the Palermo World Cup right from the first day. Concrete results due to passion and initiative of a group of dreamers whom I thank, starting with the President of the Palermo Section Beppe Tisci, the first promoter of the Palermo candidacy, the Regional Delegate of the LNI Carlo Bruno but above all the Members and the splendid volunteers who have achieved this great undertaking, stimulus for all of us to ensure that sailing returns as soon as possible to the disciplines included in the Paralympics “said the National President of Lni, Admiral Donato Marzano.
