jpnn.com – PARIS – A big surprise appeared at the 2024 Paris Olympics table tennis venue, South Paris Arena, Wednesday (31/7) afternoon WIB.

World number one men’s singles Wang Chuqin falls.

Wang lost 2-4 to 19th seeded Swedish ambassador Truls Moregard.

Dramatic. Wang trailed in the first two games 10-12, 7-11, but leveled after winning games 3 and 4, with scores of 11-5, 11-7.

Wang failed to find his best game, losing games 6 and 7, 9-11, 6-11 respectively.

After Wang’s defeat, the highest seed now rests on the shoulders of the second seed, who is ranked 4th in the world, also from China, Fan Zhendong.

Paris 2024 table tennis provides five gold medals, namely men’s singles, men’s team, women’s singles, women’s team, and mixed doubles.

The mixed doubles number has found a winner, namely Wang Chuqin (earlier) who is paired with Sun Yingsha. (oly/jpnn)
