India Tops World Test Championship Points Table After Pakistan’s Heavy Defeat

Pakistan’s crushing defeat in the Australia-Pakistan Test has led to a significant change in the World Test Championship points table, benefiting India. Following Pakistan’s massive 360-run loss to Australia in the Perth Test, India has now taken the top spot in the points table.

Prior to the Perth Test, Pakistan had been leading the table with 24 points and a 100% win percentage in both of the Tests they had played. New Zealand was in third place with 12 points and a 50% win percentage, followed by Bangladesh in fourth place with 12 points and a 50% win percentage from two Tests.

Australia, with 30 points from three Tests, including two wins and one loss, had been in fifth position. However, the upcoming India-South Africa first Test and Australia-Pakistan second Test, scheduled to start on Boxing Day on December 26th, are expected to shake up the points table once again.

If India wins their match against South Africa, they stand to secure the first position. Additionally, if Australia emerges victorious in their test against Pakistan, they will also have a chance to move ahead in the rankings.

Following Pakistan’s defeat, India has now claimed the top spot with 16 points and a winning percentage of 66.67. Despite their loss to Australia, Pakistan remains in second place in the points table with 24 points and a win percentage of 66.67, tied with India. Pakistan has achieved two wins and one loss in three matches.

The World Test Championship points table is expected to see further changes as the competition progresses, with teams vying for the top position in the championship.
