by time news

India’s Ravi Dahiya missed out on a medal at the World Wrestling Championships in Sofia.

Olympic silver medalist Dahiya lost 10-0 on technical points to Uzbekistan’s Kulomjon Abdullahi in the men’s 57kg qualifier. Abdullayev, who defeated him, did not advance to the final round, leaving Tahiya without a chance for a repechage round. This is not the first time Tahiya has lost to Abdullahi.

In the men’s 70 kg category, India’s Naveen got a repechage round. In the first match, he was stunned by beating Uzbekistan’s Sirfaz Talgat, who is ranked 4th in the world, by 11-3 points. Another Uzbek player, Ilyas Bekbulatov, who was going to face him in the next match, withdrew due to injury and Naveen has directly advanced to the bronze medal round. In it he meets Ernas Akhmadali of Kyrgyzstan.

India’s Nisha Tahiya lost to Canada’s Linda Morais by ‘by fall’ in the women’s 68kg repechage bronze medal round.
