World Wrestling: Vinesh defeats Dinamani

by time news

India’s star athlete Vinesh Bogat failed in the qualifying round of the World Wrestling Championship in Sofia.

Vinesh, who won a gold medal at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games, lost 0-3 to Mongolia’s Kulan Padkuyak in the women’s 53 kg category. It is noteworthy that the same Gulan who defeated Vinesh was defeated by India’s junior wrestler Antim last month in the Asian meet for under-23s.

However, Antim lost to Vinesh in the qualifiers for this World Championship. As India’s Anshu Malik, who won the silver earlier in the competition, is not participating and the current champion, Akari Fujnami of Japan, has withdrawn due to injury, Vinesh was expected to be the champion, but he suffered a shock defeat in the qualifying round.

Apart from him, Neelam Sirohi in 50 kg category and Shafali in 65 kg category also lost.
