Mumbai has emerged as the most expensive Indian city in this list at 136th place. The national capital Delhi is also not far behind in terms of inflation. This year it has climbed 4 places to reach 165th position. Other Indian cities included in the list include Chennai (189), Bengaluru (195), Hyderabad (202), Pune (205) and Kolkata (207).

According to the report, expensive housing markets and increased costs of transportation, goods and services are among the reasons why the cost of living is particularly high in the top-ranked cities. To prepare this report, 226 cities around the world were analyzed. Most Europeans in the 10 most expensive cities
