New York: Mercedes Benz 300 SLR model is considered to be the most valuable car in the world. Launched in 1955, the sports car was recently auctioned for $ 14.30 crore (Rs. 1,100 crore).
It is considered to be the most expensive car among the old cars.
It was one of two cars developed by the racing division of Mercedes Benz in 1955. It was designed by a team led by Chief Engineer Rudolf Uhlenhat.
The 300 SLR model car is a two-time world champion. Juan Manu Val Panjio won the title by driving this car. It has a very powerful 3 liter engine. 289.68 km / h during that period. This car was the fastest.
RM Sotheby’s, which will be auctioning off used cars in Canada, auctioned the car on May 5 at the Mercedes-Benz Stuttgart Museum. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Mercedes-Benz Fund. The fund supports academic and research work.
The auctioneer has agreed to display the car at the museum on important days.
