Worthy: For the second time in his career and after leading Liverpool to second place in the table, to the Champions League final and winning the English Cup, Jürgen Klopp has been named coach of the season in the Premier League. As you may recall, the German coach of Liverpool recorded this achievement even two years ago, then led the Reds to their first championship after 30 years.
The Merseyside coach defeated his direct rival for the title, Pep Guardiola, with three other coaches running for him, including Eddie Howe, Newcastle coach Patrick Vieira, Crystal Palace coach, and Brentford coach Thomas Frank.
“When you win that title, you’re either a genius, or you have the best coaching staff in the world,” Klopp said at the official ceremony where he received the award, “I’m here with four coaches from the team and they know how much I appreciate them.” At the same ceremony, Klopp also received the League Coaches Organization “Coach of the Season” award.
