Greco-Roman wrestling competitions start today at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

According to Day.Az, on the first day of the competition, two athletes from Azerbaijan will compete for participation in the tournament – Murad Mammadov (60 kg) and Sabah Shariati (130 kg). They will start the fight from the 1/8 finals. Murad Mammadov will meet with Ecuadorian Raiber Jose Rodriguez Ornoko, and Sabah Shariati – with Estonian Heiki Nabi.

The competition will start at 17:00 Baku time. These fights, which are of great interest to spectators, will demonstrate the performance of our athletes at a high-level tournament.

At the moment, Azerbaijan has three medals to its credit: judokas Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg) became Olympic champions, and boxer Alfonso Dominguez, having reached the final, secured at least a silver medal.
