On March 16-18, the “Champions” wrestling tournament was held in Antalya (Turkey).
As reported by İdman.biz, at the traditional tournament the Azerbaijani team won 10 medals (2 gold, 2 silver, 6 bronze).
At the competitions in the U-20 age group, our country was represented by freestyle wrestlers and women. 6 members of the country’s freestyle wrestling team stood on the podium. Musa Verdiyev (65 kg), Sadig Mustafazadeh (86 kg) won silver medals, Ruslan Abdullayev (61 kg), Ramik Geybatov (70 kg), Anar Jafarli (92 kg) and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) won bronze medals. Our team took 3rd place in the overall team competition.
The women’s team won 4 medals. Asmar Dzhankurtaran (53 kg) and Ruzanna Mamedova (62 kg) defeated all their opponents and rose to the top of the podium. Elvina Kerimzade (55 kg) and Nargiz Samedova (55 kg) won bronze medals. Our team eventually took 3rd place.
It should be noted that international class judge Sevinj Yusibova took part in the “Champions” tournament.
