The writer Claire Etcherelli died on Sunday March 5, at the age of 92, France Inter and franceinfo learned from the family of the woman of letters on Wednesday March 8.

Born January 11, 1931 in Bordeaux, Claire Etcherelli received the Prix Femina for her first novel, the best known and partly autobiographical: Élise or the True Life, published in 1967 by Denoël editions. A book which was also popularized thanks to its adaptation to the cinema in 1970. In this film, directed by Michel Drach, Marie-José Nat plays the main role.

In 1973, Claire Etcherelli became editorial secretary of Modern times, a political, literary and philosophical review by Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir.
