WWE Legend Sunny, whose real name is Tammy Sytch, has been sentenced to nearly two decades in prison and almost a decade of probation for a deadly DUI crash in Florida last year.

Sytch received a 17-year prison sentence, consisting of a 10-year and a seven-year sentence to be served consecutively, according to FOX 35 Orlando. She pleaded no contest to several charges related to the 2022 crash in Daytona Beach, including driving with a suspended license, DUI, DUI with damage to a person, and DUI with damage to property.

The 50-year-old New Jersey native also received credit for over 500 days of time served and will need to complete eight years of probation, 50 hours of community service, and pay a $10,000 fine. During the sentencing hearing, the WWE Hall of Famer read a statement to the judge expressing her remorse and pledging to make changes to prevent a similar tragedy from occurring in the future.

Sytch’s blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit when she struck and killed 75-year-old Julian Lassiter, police said. Lassiter’s family expressed disappointment with the sentence, with his daughter Whitney Lassiter-Hill stating, “I think it should’ve been longer than what she agreed to.”

Sytch, known in pro wrestling as the first WWE diva, performed under the moniker Sunny and gained widespread popularity. However, since 2012 she has faced multiple DUI arrests in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The tragic incident has led to a significant legal consequence for Sytch, marking a stark contrast to her earlier popularity in the WWE. As she begins her sentence, the impact of her actions continues to reverberate through the wrestling community and beyond.
