Xbox has announced that at the end of this month of September it will launch a credit card next to Mastercard which will allow players get points with every purchase that they make in the store and then exchange them for games, subscriptions or accessories through the Microsoft Store. A new initiative from Redmond to offer Xbox fans more ways to access their favorite content.
The catch is that, for the moment, this card will be only available in the United States for Xbox testers in collaboration with the bank Barclays. Just like the Xbox Game Pass family plan is not yet available in all markets.

“With the Xbox Mastercard credit card, players can earn points with daily purchases to redeem for games and add-ons on xbox.com,” explains Dave McCarthy, CVP of Xbox Gamer Services (via Xbox Wire). “The Xbox Mastercard will be available exclusively to Xbox Insiders in the 50 United States starting September 21, and will be available for all xbox players in all 50 United States from 2024“.
These points do not accumulate the already known Microsoft Rewards, which are earned by playing, but are accumulated independently on the card. For every 1,500 points accumulated, players can earn a 15 dollar discount code on your next Microsoft Store purchase, and the way you earn points varies as follows:
Xbox and Microsoft: Earn 5 Card Points on eligible products in the Microsoft Store.Streaming Services: Earn 3x Card Points on eligible streaming services like Netflix and Disney+.Food Delivery Services: Earn 3x Card Points card on eligible food delivery services like Grubhub and DoorDash. Everyday Purchases: Earn 1x card points on all other everyday purchases.
The thing does not stop there, since Xbox Mastercard card users will receive other benefitsas a 5,000 point bonus card ($50) and tres meses de Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for new Game Pass members” after your first purchase. As well as choosing “one of the five iconic designs for your card, with the option to personalize it with your gamertag.”
For now arrival in Europe is not confirmed of this Xbox and Mastercard card next year, but it is possible that later it will also reach our territory as other brand initiatives in the past. Until then, it will be time to continue enjoying Microsoft Rewards through new Xbox Game Pass games and future releases on the Microsoft console.
