The Xiaomi 17 Ultra places a notable emphasis on its photographic capabilities. According to a company release, the rear camera system, engineered in collaboration with Leica, features a 1-inch 50MP Light Fusion 1050Ls main sensor with an f/1.63 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). Complementing this is a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and a powerful 200MP telephoto lens with an f/2.6 aperture, offering a versatile digital zoom range from 75mm to 400mm.The front-facing camera also boasts a high-resolution 50MP sensor.

beyond the camera, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with a massive 6,800mAh battery – the largest ever included in a Xiaomi smartphone – promising exceptional autonomy. The device supports 90W fast charging, 80W wireless charging, and even offers 22.5W wired reverse charging and 20W wireless reverse charging capabilities.
All of this is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor,paired with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Design and Display
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a distinctive design characterized by a large,round camera module on the rear,coupled with straight edges and rounded corners. The phone measures 8.3 millimeters in thickness and weighs 227 grams.It is indeed available in black, white, purple, and dark green, with the latter boasting a glossy finish.
The device’s 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED screen offers a resolution of 2,608 x 1,200 pixels and a pixel density of 422 PPI. it reaches a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, a 120Hz refresh rate, and is compatible with Dolby Vision.
Software and Connectivity
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. This new operating system introduces features like device mirroring and enhanced connectivity with Apple smartphones. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, NFC, WiFi 7, and support for satellite communication.
Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra launched in China on December 26th, with a starting price of 6,999 yuan (approximately 845.68 euros at current exchange rates). A special edition of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, co-designed with Leica, is also available at a higher price point.
