Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 12, a lower-middle range model, which maintains the design of the series. It measures 168.6mm × 76.28mm × 8.17mm and weighs 199g, with IP53 dust and water protection. The screen is 17.2 cm (6.79 in) with a resolution of 2460 × 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 90 Hz and 550 nits of maximum brightness.
The processor is a modest Helio G88, accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, in addition to having a shared micro-SD reader with a second nano-SIM. It has 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a fingerprint reader on the home button. It comes with Android 13 pre-installed and the MIUI 14 customization layer.
The battery is 5000 mAh with fast charging of 18 W through USB type C. The front camera is 8 Mpx and ƒ/2.1. The rear cameras include a main one of 50 Mpx and ƒ/1.8, a secondary of 8 Mpx and ƒ/2.2 with an ultra-wide angle of 120º, and a third of 2 Mpx and ƒ/2.4 of depth. They record video at FHD and 30 f/s.
