Xiaomi has recently put its popular smartphone Poco in the End of Life i.e. EOL list. If we understand in simple words, the company will not provide firmware update to Poco C31 smartphone in the coming days. In such a situation, the use of Poco C31 smartphone will be risky, because no security patch update or software update will be provided in it. Poco C31 smartphone was launched three years ago on 30 September 2021. Poco C31 last received the MIUI 12.5 update in July 2023. In such a situation, the company has announced the end of life of this device within three years. In such a situation, the new Android update will not be given to the device. Also, MIUI version and security patch update will not be available.
Will the phone become junk?
Stopping the updates of Poco C31 smartphone does not mean that the smartphone will become junk. This phone will continue to work as before. However, if there is any cyber attack or any other problem on the phone, the company will not be responsible for it. EOL means that using this device may be dangerous from safety point of view.
What should be done?
If you have purchased Poco C31 smartphone, then it would be better for you to shift to a new device. If you can’t afford a new device, it’s best not to keep any sensitive information on the phone. Also, UPI payment and Gmail, Google account should not be logged in.
Vivo and iQOO update before Google Pixel
