Xiaomi introduced a new family of smartphones

by time news

Xiaomi showed off its 12 line of smartphones, which included three models: Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12X. The new smartphones, which will appear first in China, will go on sale with the proprietary MIUI 12.5 shell, which will receive an update to MIUI 13 in January 2022. The timeline for entering other markets has not been named.

The base device in the new family is the Xiaomi 12 with a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with Full HD + resolution (2400×1080 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The smartphone received the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor from Qualcomm, 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. The novelty is equipped with a 32 megapixel front camera with support for Full HD video, and the main module includes a 50 megapixel lens with 8K video recording, a 13 megapixel wide-angle lens and a 5 megapixel macro lens. The 4500mAh battery supports 67W fast charging and 10W wireless reverse charging. The Xiaomi 12X smartphone almost completely repeats the Xiaomi 12 model, with the exception of the chip (the X version uses the Snapdragon 870 processor), as well as simplified cameras and the absence of wireless and reverse charging.

The flagship in the lineup is the Xiaomi 12 Pro, equipped with a curved 6.73-inch AMOLED display with WQHD + resolution (3200×1440 pixels). The processor, the amount of RAM and internal memory are the same as in Xiaomi 12. The older model has a front-facing camera similar to the base device, but the main unit includes three 50-megapixel lenses, including an ultra-wide-angle and a macro lens. The 4600mAh battery can handle 120W wired charging.
