Xiaomi is also considering entering the desktop computer market

by time news

It is currently difficult to find a consumer digital market for which Xiaomi does not offer one or more products, but one of the last ones is desktop computers – and that is about to change soon.

According to reports, the company was supposed to present its first two desktop computers at the announcement event that was postponed from the beginning of the month. As I recall, the event has been postponed to an unknown date.

One of the computers that the company is supposed to launch is a classic NUC style, with a relatively low height. It should be based on the Ryzen 7 6800H which is an AMD mobile processor with a typical consumption of 45 watts, and with a Radeon 680M RDNA2 GPU. Yes, it should include 16 gigabytes of working memory and a 512 gigabyte SSD drive. The price according to the reports should be about 570 dollars.

There are no reports regarding the technical configuration of the second computer, but there are regarding its shape. According to the pictures shown online, it may be small in size, but much more similar to the Taor computer, mainly because it should display two expansion mounts that are suitable for dedicated video cards, even if not full-sized – it will not be possible, for example, to integrate a GeForce RTX 4090 card.

One of the reports is that its power supply will provide an electrical power of 100 watts, which is clearly not enough for a modern graphics card. In any case, Umi does not confirm anything for now.
