Xiaomi has finally brought out its latest mobile operating system, MIUI 14. At an event in China on Sunday, Xiaomi made MIUI 14 official, along with the launch of the flagship Xiaomi 13 series. This latest operating system brings visual changes and enhanced features based on the Android 13 platform. Xiaomi claims that MIUI 14 is lighter but more powerful than the previous generation. Space saving, yet more powerful
According to the new MIUI it focuses on more space saving processes while completing tasks at a much faster rate. In fact, it is much lighter than MIUI 13, while being more powerful. Kernel-level improvements have been made increasing fluency by up to 60%, thanks to the new MIUI Photon Engine.
Moreover, the number of uninstallable files has been reduced to only 8, which can save nearly 1.5GB of storage space on the smartphone.
Design repair
Although there is not a major overhaul in terms of design, minor changes have been made to improve the user experience. Users can change icon sizes, set home screen folders, new widgets, and more. In addition, new interactive objects such as plants and pets can be set on the home screen as widgets.
Intelligent artificial intelligence
MIUI 14 has smart AI features that enhance your smartphone usage. Smart AI can now extract text from images, recognize images, provide translations for video calls, and more. The AI voice assistant has also received notable improvements that can be used to filter spam calls and scan and translate important documents with simple commands.
MIUI 14 release schedule
Although the official release schedule has been released, please note that it can only be applied at the moment, so you may have to wait for it to be available in your region. All of the below are expected to get the stable MIUI 14 update from January 2023.
