Alongside the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi also revealed a pair of new tablets: Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro. These offer a premium design, support an external keyboard and are also integrated with extremely advanced specifications to compete with the big companies – but at a lower price.
The design of both tablets draws a lot of inspiration from the Xiaomi 13 series, both in the frame, colors and the arrangement of the cameras on the back. Both also have an 11-inch capable IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1800×2880 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. The Pro model also has a 144Hz refresh rate which is a slight improvement over the 120Hz of the Pad 5 series.
Another significant advantage of the Pad 6 Pro is in the processor based on Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 while the Pad 6 is based on Snapdragon 870. There are also several configurations such as 8/128 for the standard model and 12/512 gigabytes for the most advanced model of the Pro. The battery also has a slight difference in favor of the Pro with 8,600 versus 8,840 mAh and also in charging there is a difference of 67 versus 33 watts.
The photography setup includes a 50-megapixel main camera and another 20-megapixel selfie camera. In the standard model, the camera resolution drops to 13 megapixels at the back and 8 megapixels at the front. Both are based on MIUI 14 which is the Android 13 system. There are also four stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos and accessories for purchase such as a keyboard and a second generation stylus pen with a longer battery life.
The price in China starts at $349 for the basic model (6/128) or $400 for the Pad 6 Pro model in the 8/256 gigabyte configuration. The launch is planned for later this month with the global version expected to be released later.
