jpnn.comJAKARTA – XL Axiata has prepared a reliable telecommunications and data network, to serve and maintain customer comfort during the long Eid holiday.
It is predicted that XL Axiata service traffic will increase by around 10-20 percent compared to normal days.
For this reason, XL Axiata has carried out network tests on all main routes back home and for holidays in various areas, including along the Trans Java and Trans Sumatra toll roads.
“The Eid holiday always presents challenges for us as telecommunications and data operators because traffic always increases quite significantly,” said XL Axiata Director & Chief Technology Officer I Gede Darmayusa in a press release.
Apart from the surge, another challenge is the movement of locations with high traffic to various scattered areas, especially in cities in Java and tourist locations.
“Apart from needing to increase capacity, we also have to have an appropriate traffic engineering strategy on the network so that congestion does not occur in various locations with high traffic,” said Gede.
Gede said, the increase in traffic during each Eid occurs because Indonesian people are increasingly doing digital activities, including to stay in touch or celebrate Eid on holidays, as well as accessing various means of information and entertainment.
Gede said that XL Axiata’s traffic had slowly increased by an average of up to 5 percent throughout Ramadan compared to traffic on normal days.
