XRP Users Can Earn Tokens in New Evernode Airdrop
CriptoFácil – In a scenario where (XRP) celebrates its triumph – partial and temporary – over the US regulator, news stirs the crypto community: an airdrop for all XRP holders.
The protagonist of this novelty is the Layers 2 Evernode network. The goal is to integrate smart contracts into the XRP Ledger through Hooks technology.
According to the information provided by the Evernode team, they plan to distribute exactly 5,160,960 Evers tokens to all eligible XRP holders, by the time the “Evers” token is released to the market.
The developers highlighted that first there will be a snapshot of XRP balances on the mainnet. This snapshot will serve to identify the legitimate holders of the token. Then, based on this registration, the airdrop will be distributed to eligible accounts on the Hooks sidechain, taking into account the XRP balance on the mainnet.
The Evernode team chose a specific date and time for this snapshot: Friday, September 1st at 5:00 am ET.
They also highlighted that all token holders should note that in order to claim this airdrop, they must own their tokens directly on the Hooks blockchain, not an exchange.
“The airdrop is a gift. While we use our best efforts, we do not promise/guarantee in any way that you will receive any specific number of Evers,” the developers said.
Distribution of tokens to those who have XRP
Like Evernode, other developers are working to launch smart contracts on Ripple’s network and Ripple Labs itself has been developing solutions for this.
Recently the Hooks amendment designed to make the XRP Ledger fully programmable has successfully passed a security audit. The codebase of the protocol update was audited by US cybersecurity innovator FYEO.
XRPL Hooks are basically smart contracts for XRP Ledger. They will allow developers to write software programs with basic economic logic, not unlike major smart contract platforms.
