Yael Shelvia is breathtaking at the fashion awards ceremony in London Fashion Forward

Yesterday evening, the British Fashion Awards ceremony was held in London, which regularly receives less coverage than its American version – the CFDA Awards – but provides equally stunning fashion moments. The carpet was filled with celebrities, mostly British, and Judy Turner Smith changed several outfits as the host of the ceremony.

Highlights of the ceremony included Pierpaolo Piccioli winning Designer of the Year for his work at Valentino, in a category that initially included Balenciaga’s Demane Gabeslia, but was removed as a nominee after the holiday campaign scandal. Bella Hadid won the model of the year award, but did not come to the ceremony and had to accept it via video call.

Two local representatives also walked the red carpet – Yael Shelvia and Omar Nodelman, who arrived dressed in Renoir dresses, as befits presentations.

Yael wore a shiny black dress that exposed her back and Omar wore a coat-dress in a burgundy shade. Both items were specially designed for them by Ron (Ronko) Kahn, the chain’s creative director, who adapted it for Renoir’s new New Year’s Eve collection.

“The models, designed especially for the red carpet, are an extreme interpretation of Renoir’s glittering New Year’s Eve collection,” Kahn told FF. “It includes rich evening fabrics, a multitude of different textures and finishes, sequins, wet-look fabrics, satins and velvets, which are used in a wide variety of cuts with a special emphasis on new and interesting necklines. The collection returns to the distinct female archetype and the use of body-hugging and very feminine cuts.’
