Azerbaijan, within the framework of the mandate to host the COP29 conference, approaches the negotiation process with all participating parties through the prism of transparency, inclusiveness and neutrality.
As Day.Az reported on Monday with reference to Trend, this was stated by the chief negotiator of COPP29, Yalchin Rafiyev, in his speech during the first press conference of the COP29 presidency.
“The key topics of the COP29 negotiations, including climate finance, are being comprehensively discussed with all parties, and work is actively underway on possible solutions for a successful outcome of the negotiations,” Ya. Rafiev emphasized.
It should be noted that on April 15, the first press conference was held at the COP29 General Staff in connection with the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in November 2024 in Azerbaijan. Speakers at the event included COP29 President-designate Mukhtar Babayev, COP29 Chief Negotiator Yalchin Rafiev, COP29 General Director Elnur Soltanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of the COP29 Operating Company Narmin Dzharchalova, UN High-Level Climate Leader Nigar Arpadarai, COP29 Youth Climate Advocate in Azerbaijan Leyla Hasanova.
