“YES to Yambol products!” celebrates its first anniversary
Unique and loved by the people of Yambol, regional food and drinks will be presented by their local producers exhibition for bee and local products on top Dimitrovden in Yambol. The initiator of the farming event “YES to Yambol products!”, which will celebrate its first anniversary this Thursday, is the local foundation “Yambol – taste and traditions”. The non-governmental organization has set itself the goal of helping Yambol producers to reach local consumers directly. A mandatory condition for participation in the exhibition, which takes place every last Thursday of the month, is that the production of the offered product takes place on the territory of the Yambol region.
Vegetables grown on the principle of regenerative agriculture will be presented by a young family from the region. Iva and Georgi returned from a trip to Denmark less than a year ago and finally fulfilled their dream of creating a farm for organic vegetable cultivation. For production, they use the soil-friendly no-till technology. Without processing, milling, pesticides and chemical fertilizers, the two grow vegetables in the village of Hanovo near Yambol.
Fresh fruits and vegetables will also be offered by another couple of farmers who have chosen Galabintsi as their home. Although Desislava is from Rhodope and Petar is from Zagorets, near Yambol they raise their 4 children and make a living.
Residents and visitors to the city will be able to taste goat cheese and cheese produced by the Italian Denis Staffuzza. He has been living in the Yambol village of Stara Reka for years, where he prepares quality dairy products.
Organically certified spelt and spelled oil and flours produced from local raw materials will also be at the attention of residents and guests of the city on October 26. The farm grows organic products that are successfully exported to the European Union, the USA and the countries of the Far East.
Wines from the youngest winery in the Yambol region – Villa “Meden”, which opened its doors less than a year ago in the village of Meden Kladenets, will be presented at the exhibition. For lovers of grape elixirs, VI “Lozenets”, which also works in Yambolsko, will exhibit its wines.
A local producer with a closed production cycle will be involved with milk and milk products. Local beekeepers from almost all municipalities in the district have been regular participants of the exhibition since its inception. They will showcase honey, pollen and high quality bee products.
The jubilee edition of the exhibition “YES to Yambol products!” starts at 10:00 a.m. on Osvobozhdenie Square – in front of Bezistena (south side). The event is organized by the Yambol – Taste and Traditions Foundation in cooperation with the Yambol Municipality and the Yambol Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
