NEW YORK – The New York yankees defeated the Washington Nationals 10-5 on Monday night, powered by a career-long homer from I.Rice, three RBIs from Cody Bellinger and six scoreless innings from rookie Cam Schlittler.

Nationals’ Late Push Falls short

Washington managed to score five runs with two outs in the ninth inning. Robert hassell III drew a bases-loaded walk, and Jacob Young hit a grand slam to narrow the deficit.

Lord surrendered seven runs, six of which were earned, in 4 1/3 innings. He recorded five strikeouts and issued two walks.
