Six days after his multimillion-dollar signing to the Giro d’Italia, Yaser Asprilla debuted with the team in the third matchday of LaLiga 2024/25. He played his first 13 minutes in the 4-0 rout over Osasuna.
The 20-year-old Colombian came on for Abel Ruiz in the 73′, doing so when the match was already decided with 3 goals and amidst the applause of the local fans. Initially, he positioned himself as a playmaker, behind a couple of forwards, but by the 80′ he drifted to the right side of the attack to play with an inverted profile.
Yaser had an impact at the end of the game when he initiated the play for the 4-0. From the right, he filtered a pass for Donny van de Beek, who set up Christian Stuani to score Girona’s fourth goal. A good connection between these three players to close a magical night in Montilivi.
The other three goals for Girona had been scored by Brayan Gil at 34 minutes, Viktor Tsyhankov at 53′, and Abel Ruiz at 56′.
