Yehuda Maayan has been appointed chairman of the Taekwondo Association and will lead it until 2024. The association’s management approved the appointment at a meeting held today (Friday), ONE has learned. He will replace the previous chairman, Samson Chai Yosef, who ended his term after 20 years.
Yehuda Maayan previously headed the sailing association, he is still a board member of the association and manages the Hapoel Tel Aviv sailing association, but now he has entered a new position in the industry that won an Olympic medal in Tokyo 2020. Recently Maayan attended the Israeli championship and the association was looking for a personality to lead the industry.
Yehuda Maayan He said: “The taekwondo industry has a great future in Israeli sports, as an industry that brought an Olympic medal, the goal for Paris is to double the delegation to the Games and bring another Olympic medal to Israel, along with increasing the pyramid base of competitors in Israel.”
