Yellowjackets Season 4 Trailer Reveals Long-Awaited Rescue

After nineteen months trapped in the Canadian wilderness, the high school soccer team is finally coming home in the fourth and final season of the hit survival drama Yellowjackets, premiering November 20 on Paramount+.

The rescue kicks off the final chapter of the Emmy-nominated psychological horror series Yellowjackets, shifting the narrative focus from survival in the remote northern woods to the psychological fallout of returning to civilization. Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the series has chronicled both the teens’ brutal descent into savage clans and the adult survivors’ attempts to piece their lives back together nearly 25 years later.

The Trailer Opens a New Era with Camcorder Footage and False Stories

The official teaser trailer for the final run opens with a camcorder frame stamped January 3, 1996, capturing the teenage survivors recounting their experiences on camera. While local townspeople embrace the girls—with one man proudly declaring that you girls are American heroes—the reality behind their return is far darker.

The plane crashed. Our friends died. And the rest of us starved. And scavenged. And we prayed, until they finally found us.

The survivors appear to have agreed on a carefully rehearsed explanation to hide how their teammates died and what happened to their bodies. The disconnect between the public reception and the memories of the woods is underscored by Van, who says, We weren’t supposed to leave.

Paramount Global Content Distribution distributes the series, which is produced for Showtime by Lionsgate Television. Alongside creators and showrunners Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the executive producer team includes Drew Comins of Creative Engine, Jonathan Lisco, Jeff W. Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa, and Julia Bicknell.

MTV News and Alanis Morissette Join the Marketing Campaign

The show’s marketing team rolled out an in-universe MTV News segment featuring anchor Serena Altschul reporting from Times Square about the survivors being found after 19 months.

The promotional push also features a fictionalized moment from a 1999 MTV Unplugged performance where Alanis Morissette dedicates her song Ironic to the survivors, praising them as such a symbol of hope. Morissette previously covered the show’s theme song, No Return, during its second season.

Unresolved Mysteries and Adult Reckonings Ahead

With the rescue occurring early in the new episodes, the final season must bridge the dual timelines while resolving lingering questions.
