The US Central Command (Centcom) announced at dawn today that the US Navy launched Tomahawk missiles at weapons production and storage sites belonging to the Houthis in Yemen last Tuesday.
It was reported that US forces used guided missile destroyers belonging to the Truman aircraft carrier group, which were operating in the waters of the Red Sea at the time of the precision missile strikes.
On December 30 and 31, Centcom also announced that it had carried out multiple strikes on Houthi targets in Sanaa and coastal sites in Yemen.
It then published footage of its warplane taking off and launching two missiles from aboard a warship towards Houthi targets. This operation was preceded by the Houthis announcing the downing of an American MQ-9 drone, worth $32 million. They showed scenes documenting the operation when the plane penetrated the airspace of Al-Bayda Governorate in northern Yemen.
