UN Security Council calls for immediate end to airstrikes in Yemen Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has strongly condemned the move.

Aden:

Yemen has been embroiled in a civil war since 2014 between pro-President Mansour Hadi forces and Iranian-backed Houthi rebel forces. Saudi-led coalition forces in support of President Mansour Hadi have been carrying out attacks on Houthi rebels since 2015.

Despite international criticism of the Saudi coalition, those forces continue to fight the Houthi rebels. In retaliation, Houthi rebels have been launching missile strikes and drone strikes on Saudi Arabia.

On the 17th, Houthi rebels attacked two consecutive drones near the international airport in Abu Dhabi. 3 people including 2 Indians were killed in this. Saudi forces subsequently intensified airstrikes against Houthi rebels.

Meanwhile, airstrikes targeted a refugee detention center controlled by Houthi rebels in western Yemen. In which the building was completely demolished to the ground level.

The death toll from the airstrikes has now risen to 87. And about 200 were seriously injured. They have been recovered and are being treated at nearby hospitals.
