Considering equity among local governments, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security evaluated 243 metropolitan and basic local governments across the country by dividing them into four groups. 60 excellent local governments were selected by evaluating the performance of regulatory innovation, including improvement of lumpy (central) regulation, improvement of shadow/behavioral regulation, efforts to improve regulation closely related to companies and residents, and best practices for regulation improvement.

This year, Yeoncheon-gun has been working to improve central regulations and regulations on shadow behavior of public officials in order to innovate local regulations. Meanwhile, Yeoncheon-gun announced that it was selected as an ‘excellent institution in the medical benefit project’ for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024 in the evaluation of the medical benefit project hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare selected 18 excellent local governments by comprehensively evaluating 11 indicators in 5 areas, including medical benefit performance of beneficiaries, medical benefit case management, and home medical benefit business operation, among local governments across the country.
The medical benefit project is a project in which the government provides medical services such as examination, examination, and treatment for diseases, injuries, and childbirth that occur to citizens who are unable or have difficulty maintaining their livelihood.
Since last July, Yeoncheon-gun has been promoting the ‘Home Medical Benefits’ project, which provides necessary services to enable long-term hospitalized patients to return to their daily lives in a stable manner. In particular, it has focused on case management of excessive users of medical benefits and established new medical benefit recipients in towns. ·Efforts are being made to provide differentiated case management, such as conducting field-specific itinerant education and 1:1 on-site education.
