Yeosu City, ‘Youth Support Center’ completes refurbishment and holds opening ceremony
Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Ki-myeong) held an opening ceremony on the 19th after completing the internal remodeling of the ‘Youth Support Center’ to provide a space for local youth to prepare for the future.
At the opening ceremony, people from all walks of life, including Mayor Jeong Ki-myeong, Yeosu City Council Chairman Baek In-sook, and the Youth Council, attended and delivered congratulatory messages, and performances by young artists added meaning to the event.
On this day, Mayor Jeong Ki-myeong said, “We will provide full support through the Youth Support Center so that the future that local youth have designed for themselves can be realized,” and “We will think about what young people need, communicate with them, and discover and promote necessary programs.”
Yeosu City Youth Support Center is an organization dedicated to youth support that first opened in July 2018.
In order to improve accessibility for young people, the city moved to Munsu-dong in January of this year and is providing customized support programs that reflect various needs such as employment and entrepreneurship for young people aged 18 to 45.
In addition, spaces such as conference rooms, multi-purpose rooms, suit rental rooms, shared offices, and seminar rooms were reorganized to increase convenience and usability so that young people can use the facilities according to their purposes.
A city official said, “The Youth Support Center has been renovated and we will provide various opportunities to young people and strive to create a policy environment so that young people can realize their dreams.”
‘Yeosu Industrial Complex Employment Special Lecture for Youth’ received favorable reviews
Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Ki-myeong) and GS Caltex held a ‘Yeosu Industrial Complex Employment Special Lecture for Youth’ at the Youth Training Center on the 18th to strengthen the job-seeking capabilities of local youth and successfully concluded.
According to the city, the special lecture was held on this day with so much interest from young job seekers that the 200 seats prepared were not enough.
A large number of current employees from GS Caltex’s human resources team and business team participated in the special lecture, which was conducted in the order of ▲company introduction ▲recruitment field and customized strategy ▲recent recruitment trends ▲Q&A with current employees.
In addition, various customized programs for young people were introduced through promotional videos and materials from the Youth Support Center, which hosted this special lecture.
One participant expressed satisfaction, saying, “The vivid employment strategies and know-how provided by the incumbent were of great help in deciding the direction of my future career. It was a time to gain confidence for the future.”
A city official said, “The reality that young people feel due to the cold spell in employment will be even more difficult, but I hope that today’s special lecture will be an opportunity to gain the necessary information.” He added, “We will continue to focus our efforts on creating employment support measures that are directly related to young people, including job creation.” He said.
