Armenia and Azerbaijan ceased hostilities after negotiations between Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and the heads of defense departments Suren Papikyan and Zakir Hasanov. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, RIA Novosti reports.

“At present, clashes in the area of ​​Mount Kilisali have been stopped, the situation has returned to normal and is under control,” it was reported.

As a result of negotiations with the heads of the military departments of Azerbaijan and Armenia, held on the initiative of Shoigu, Baku and Yerevan took measures to stabilize the situation in the border area, the Russian military department said.

In turn, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported that a truce was announced on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with the mediation of Russia. “Shoigu expressed his readiness to make efforts to end hostilities and stabilize the situation,” they said.
