Yoel Suisa, a resident of Dimona and father of four, was killed this evening (Thursday) by a car on Route 25 while he was riding the emergency motorcycle of the Union and Rescue Organization where he volunteered. In 2010, his brother, Yakir Suisa, perished in the Carmel disaster. And two years earlier, his father Rafael was murdered in an attack in Dimona.

44-year-old Yoav was fatally injured in the accident and died of his injuries in the hospital after resuscitation attempts. In the rescue union they said: “The management of the organization and its volunteers, bow their heads at this difficult time, share in the family’s grief and embrace it.”

The ZAKA organization, where he volunteered for two years, also paid tribute to him. Yehuda Lorber, ZAKA Negev region commander: “We received with great sadness the report that our dear and beloved Yoel Suisa, one of our brothers in ZAKA, was killed in a serious accident near Dimona. Yoel acted modestly and quietly for each and every one, fighting for the honor of the dead with devotion while accompanying the grieving families with great sensitivity and compassion.”

“With a broken heart, on behalf of the management of the organization and the management of the Negev region, we strengthen and embrace his dear friends to the Dimona team and the entire Negev region, knowing that the merit of his great deeds in ZAKA will stand in his memory forever,” he added.

In the meantime, another fatal car accident occurred today in which a 32-year-old man was killed in an accident between three vehicles on Route 446 near the Hasmonaim checkpoint in the direction of Nilai. MDA paramedics who arrived at the scene provided medical treatment and evacuated three injured to Shamir Assaf Harofeh and Shaare Zedek hospitals. Among them: a 35-year-old Palestinian man in moderate condition and a 40-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl in mild condition.
