Yogi Adityanath leads by 34000 votes – BJP volunteers enthusiastic

In Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party candidate Subhavathi Shukla, who contested against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, fell behind.

With the registered votes in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections being counted, the ruling BJP has more seats than it needs for a majority. Therefore, the BJP is determined to retain power. The BJP’s leading candidates are leading by a large margin.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is contesting the assembly elections for the first time, continues to be present in the Gorakhpur city constituency. Samajwadi Party candidate Subhavathi Shukla, who contested against him, is in second place.

As of this afternoon, Yogi Adityanath was leading by 34,000 votes. Yogi Adityanath received 51,400 votes. Samajwadi Party candidate Subhavathi Shukla polled 17,368 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Kawaja Shamsuddin got 3319 votes and Azad Samaj Party candidate Chandra Sehgar got 2754 votes. Congress’ Chetna Pandey was trailing by 740 votes while Aam Aadmi Party candidate Vijay Kumar was trailing by 243 votes.

As Yogi Adityanath approached victory, a large number of volunteers gathered at the party office in Gorakhpur to celebrate.
