Yojin Construction, Cool Summer Event Held at Site During the Severe Summer

Yojin Construction Industry announced on the 12th that it held a ‘Cool Summer’ event to ensure the health and safety of on-site workers who are exhausted from the heat wave that continues day after day.

On the 9th, Yojin Construction sent a mobile food truck to the construction site of the Seongsu-dong Knowledge Industry Center in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and provided coffee, tea, and patbingsu (shaved ice with red beans) to workers. This event was held to prevent heatstroke and other heat-related illnesses among workers during the hot summer, and it is said that the workers at the site were able to recharge their work morale and have a time to rest and communicate.

In addition, Yojin Construction is operating a program to ensure that workers can work safely even in hot weather in accordance with its safety and health-first management policy.

It was reported that each site is providing events such as watermelon hwachae and ice cream, and that various cooling products such as ice vests and necklace-type fans are provided to help workers cool down. It was also reported that break rooms equipped with air conditioning are installed throughout each site and ice makers, ice water, and salt glucose are always provided so that workers can rest in a safe and comfortable environment.

In addition, the Chief Safety Officer and headquarters safety officers are visiting the site to inspect safety management status and are actively taking measures to prevent heat-related illnesses, such as expanding break times and activating the right to stop work, he explained.

Yojin Construction CSO Jeong Chan-wook said, “We are managing the site by placing the health and safety of workers as our top priority,” and added, “We will do our utmost to ensure safety and health management so that workers can work safely and comfortably at all times, not only during the hottest summer months.”
