Singer Yoo Yeol (63) has been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and is reportedly recovering from the illness.
According to industry sources on the 18th, Yoo Yeol recently received a successful lung transplant. Lee Du-heon of the folk group ‘Five Fingers’, who is close with Yoo Yeol, recently wrote on his social media, “This is the first time Yoo Yeol has called me since his lung transplant. Yoo Yeol, who recently started out as an evangelist, confessed in a video released on the YouTube channel ‘Eden Church 0691TV’ in November of last year that he had been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. This disease is caused when alveolar cells are damaged, fibroblasts are excessively produced and accumulate, and lung tissue hardens (fibrosis).

Yoo Yeol debuted in 1986 after winning the grand prize at the MBC University Music Festival. He won awards such as Singer of the Year at the 2005 KBS Music Awards.
