During a recent demonstration supporting legal reform in Or Akiva, lawyer Yoram Sheftel referred to opponents of the reform as a “mob”. Sheftel claimed that the protesters who shout “democracy over dictatorship” are proving how little they understand about what they are saying. He went on to state that currently, the country is being run by a dictatorship of 15 judges, but this will soon come to an end with power being returned to the people. Sheftel noted that the residents of Or Akiva represent the people of Israel and they will not be ruled by the mob who were defeated by 700,000 votes. He concluded that the people will now rule, not the opposition.

The lawyer Yoram Sheftel spoke at the demonstration of supporters of the reform that took place in Or Akiva and called the demonstrators against the legal reform a “mob”.

“When the mob standing across the road shouts democracy over the dictatorship, this is the most striking proof of how wrong he is, how much he understands what he is saying,” he said.

“Today we are in a dictatorship of 15 judges and we are going to put an end to this dictatorship as early as next week by returning power to the residents of Or Akiva who represent the residents of the State of Israel. We defeated the mob by 700,000 votes. You will not rule us anymore. The people will rule.”
