As part of the conference, Abu presented the plans for expanding Leviathan and said: “These days we are promoting the increase in production from Levitan through the installation of a third pipeline that will carry gas to the rig, and in addition we are completing the expansion of the capacity of the EMG pipeline from 5 BCM to 8 BCM, to meet the growing demand in the regional economy. As for the Aphrodite reservoir Abu noted: “We are determined to find a way to develop the Aphrodite reservoir through the Egyptian infrastructure and the liquefaction facilities there. The Aphrodite reservoir will be used partly for the local market and partly for export to LNG. Cooperation with the existing infrastructure is the key to transporting gas to the various markets.”
