First, Cohen criticized the statements of senior Israeli officials against Qatar. According to him, “This is the only country that can bring a deal right now. Arguing with it in public is wrong, we need to conduct ourselves wisely – any criticism of Qatar at this time should be completely stopped.”

He later called for a one-shot kidnapping deal and said: “We will pay all the requested prices anyway as proposed – so let’s pay them today in advance for everyone, and shorten the inhumane stay of the kidnapped in the Gaza Strip.”

He also referred to the commission of inquiry that will investigate the October 7 massacre: “The establishment of a state commission of inquiry must be announced with the end of the fighting – there can be no other commission. I cannot describe a situation where a commission operates while fighting, it is absurd.”
