Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced the launch of three new privacy features on WhatsApp. He said it would give users more control over their conversations and increase the security layers of messaging.

Screenshot blocking:

Screenshot blocking is one of the 3 new features that are being rolled out in the WhatsApp beta for iOS as well as Android.

In this feature when the recipient tries to take a screenshot of the images and videos they are viewing once, the screenshot will be blocked automatically. But the sender will not receive any notification. However, a user can take photos using a secondary phone or camera.

Silently exit a group chat:

Another new feature allows users to leave a group chat without informing everyone. This means that if a member leaves the former group, everyone in the group will know that the member has left. It is currently blocked.

Online Status:

Zuckerberg said that you can now control who can see your online status when you’re online.

In addition to this, Meta is also experimenting with unique avatars on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. That too will be rolled out soon, Meta said.
