NASA offers its Exoplanet Watch program to anyone who wants to contribute to the discovery, characterization, and data collection of exoplanets.
And “NASA” wanted to help those who have a passion for space affairs, so they desire to learn about the world of astronomy and planets.
And the US space agency offers its program to anyone who wants to help it learn more about exoplanets that have already been discovered, especially those that are in transit in front of bright stars.
A scientific program called “Exoplanet Watch” enables the user to learn how to observe exoplanets and perform data analysis on them to determine and characterize their orbits, using teaching methods used by actual NASA scientists.
The NASA program consists of two parts, one of which includes observing planets using a telescope, and the other includes identifying planets in the data, through a computer or smartphone, which means that not having special equipment or a telescope does not prevent a person from participating, as the program allows access to data collected by automatic telescopes.
And the “Exoplant Watch” program is not born of the moment. Rather, it was launched in 2018, but it was allocated to a limited number of people before NASA made it available to everyone this year.
