You have to see this: a donut come to life

by time news

The artist Johannes Stötter is known for his groundbreaking work in the field of body paintings and body art. A multi-award winner, Stutter has reached various milestones during his extensive career and received praise in the international media. He lives in the Tyrol region on the border between Austria and Italy and draws inspiration for his works from a deep connection with nature.

This time he received a unique challenge. Create matching one-to-one body paintings for Roldin’s new donut collection. The unique campaign is led by the advertiser Tzur Golan – the chief creative director of the Reuveni Friedan advertising agency and can be viewed, among other things: on television, billboards, digital advertising, social media and in all Roldin branches throughout the country. Over the years, ‘Roldin’ makes sure to combine fashion, lifestyle and art with donuts, between the innovation of flavors to present the collection in a creative and unusual way, and the many creative campaigns for Hanukkah have received exposure, coverage and awards in Israel and abroad. This is not the first time that Roldin has collaborated with an international artist In 2020, the chain collaborated with the artist Anne Sophie, who creates her works from collections of dolls and toys. These were the days of Corona and Anne created a creative mask collection that corresponded with the donut collection.
This year the brand is making a step up, in an innovative campaign under the title FOLLOW YOUR ART through the collaboration with the artist Johannes Stötter, who has rare abilities to transform the human body into a completely different, hyper-realistic object, through a combination of shape and color. In the past, Johannes created from human models: a frog, a chameleon, a whale, a butterfly, a wolf and much more.

The work process took several months, when Johannes conducted a large number of tests in his studio on a variety of donuts until finally four donuts were chosen that were allowed to “come to life”. The filming took place in Klagenfurt, Austria and took two whole days.

Noa Bacher Aharoni, CEO of the Roldin chain: “Every year during Hanukkah, the campaign is the culmination of a long and complex process that has one goal: to bring all Israelis a happy holiday collection and make the Hanukkah holiday perfect. I am happy that this year the campaign also reflects the concept of the art of confectionery that guides us in cracking and developing The collection. Thank you to all who do the work here in Roldin and to all our partners in the process – Happy Roldin holiday”

Tzur Golan, Roldin’s publicist and creative person: “Sometimes dreams come true and it’s not a cliché, we started working on this project a year and a half ago and it was worth the wait. I’m proud that we were able to break our own glass ceiling and produce an international campaign in every sense of the word. With the people of Roldin HaShem they are the limit”
