At 37 years old and with some 300 goals to his name, Olivier Giroud has made a name for himself for ages, but it remains to be pronounced correctly by English speakers. In a duplex with the CBS Sports set after AC Milan’s victory over PSG (2-1) on Tuesday evening, the AC Milan striker went out of his way, with humor, to gently tease Jamie Carragher, the former Liverpool player and American channel consultant, unable to pronounce “Giroud” perfectly.
Readily lending himself to a funny and spontaneous scene, the Rossenero, who played for Arsenal and Chelsea, had Carragher repeat several times, giving him advice with each new attempt.
Presenter Kate Abdo instigated the exchange, asking the Frenchman: “Does it bother you the way Jamie Carragher pronounces your name? » “Tell me your name, say it, I need education,” Carragher bounced back.
