Panibottle appeared as a guest on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’, which aired on the 1st. In January 2019, when he was 33 years old, he began a 343-day world trip without returning home with 20 million won in assets, and is Korea’s No. 1 travel YouTuber with 2.17 million subscribers.

On this day, Yoo Jae-seok asked, “Among domestic travel YouTubers, Pani Bottle is the only one with more than 2 million subscribers. How did you get started?”

In response, Panibottle said, “I worked as an office worker for about a year. Then, I went to a boiler company and interned for 3 months. I was told that I could move on to a full-time employee if nothing major happened. The salary was good and the company was a bit large, so I tried to endure it, but the culture was a bit rigid. “I had to wear a suit and wear a dress shirt, and I couldn’t eat alone at lunch time, so I had to eat together.”

He continued, “I have a rebellious streak, so I didn’t go even though there was a rule like that. Most of the time, I went from an intern to a full-time employee, but they told me to quit. I felt good. I thought it was a good thing.” I said ‘I should try it’ a lot, and I really wanted to try YouTube, and I thought, ‘Let’s travel the world and earn 300,000 to 400,000 won a month through YouTube.’ “I started with that thought because I could do it,” he said.

He said that he had never once thought about becoming famous. “I never dreamed of winning an entertainment award show or participating in a U-quiz show, and I never imagined that I would become that famous. These days, life seems like a virtual reality and I can’t believe it. I have achieved so much.” “He looked dazed.

When asked about his own strategy to become competitive, Pani Bottle said, “The problem at first was that there was no strategy. I once uploaded an hour-long video of people eating ramen at a Korean restaurant in Vietnam, and I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ ‘Who can eat ramen without saying a word? “I got a call from an acquaintance saying, ‘See?’ There was a lot of trial and error.”

He continued, “I was thinking about what to do, and I thought, ‘Oh, I don’t know.’ I’ve written a travelogue on a travel blog, and I wanted to do it with that feeling. I filmed it in the first person while quietly muttering to myself. In the beginning, no one was watching. Except for my mom, dad, and friends, I was almost 50 years old.” “It was about 1 time,” he confessed.

Regarding the initial profits, he said, “There was nothing at all. I’ve been to India a long time ago. It’s spectacular, unlike other countries. Even if you don’t do anything, if you go outside, so many events happen. I was thinking about giving up in Nepal, but let’s just go all the way to India. If it doesn’t work out here, we’ll just go back and do it again. “I decided to pursue a career, but the Indian content I had planned exploded,” he said.

The content comparing first and last class seats on Indian trains became a huge hit, reaching 1,000 subscribers within 4 months of starting YouTube.

Panibottle said, “After that happened, the graph went up. The first profit I received was 5 million won. What surprised me was that other YouTubers said that the first profit would be small and that it would be around 400,000 to 500,000 won, but it was 5 million won. “It’s amazing because I’ve never fallen to the bottom since I started,” he said.

He continued, “It’s a bit difficult for me to talk about my profits in front of the two of you right now. Nothing works out as I expected and I always fail, but for the first time in my life, I expected this to work out, and it did really well, and that one video took off, and I’m working hard until this moment.” He said thank you.
